Nkuku Payag Recycled Glass Vase – Large
The traditional methods used to create the Payag vase are evident in its organic form and the variety of delicate air bubbles scattered throughout the glass, giving it a distinctive look and feel. Its beautifully curved shape is created by mouth blowing the glass, a time honoured and low impact technique that is steeped in tradition. We’ve used recycled glass which makes this vase as sustainable as it is stylish. The simple design means this vase suits almost any interior, bringing a sense of understated elegance to a sideboard or occasional table.
To care for this item, we recommend regularly wiping with a soft, damp cloth. To clean the item, hand wash only using a mild dish soap and do not leave to soak. Please do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as this may damage the finish. Indoor use only.
Why We Love Nkuku
Founded on the back of a life-changing adventure, Nkuku was created by Ali & Alex Cooke after a year-long round the world trip. From the outset they were humbled by the talented craftspeople and their beautiful work, so inspired in fact that upon their return they decided to move from the city of London to rural Devon. They began working with artisans from around the world, supporting and celebrating their skills by bringing their products to a wider audience.
The name Nkuku comes from a village in Zambia, the place where the Cooke’s wrote their business plan on the cover of a paperback book. That was the inspiration for their first product, the stylish leather journals they still sell today. Although Nkuku has evolved since it was founded in 2003, they still have the same hands-on approach, meeting and working with their artisan makers personally, this enables them to guarantee that every product has a story to tell.
We fell in love with the Nkuku brand when at a trade show back in 2019, their unique homewares caught our eye instantly, never had we seen such unique, quality products. You really can see the diversity in their products, whether it’s a handwoven throw or an industrial dinning table, their products ooze culture. Nkuku makes it simple to add visual interest and adventurous culture to your home. One of the main reasons we are proud to stock the Nkuku brand is the fact that all of their products are ethically made, eco-friendly and hand-made. Nkuku’s approach to design fit’s seamlessly with our own ethos, they use materials that will stand the test of time, shapes, textures and patterns that will stay relevant across seasons. Ultimately, Nkuku wish to offer items you will cherish for years to come, eliminating the ‘fast-fashion’ approach to homewares.
